JAPAN-BASED 'MANJUSHAKA' THEATER PERFORMS IN THE CITY
In line with the celebration of the city's 5th Charter Anniversary, constituents of Muņoz was given the rare chance to witness the enthralling performance of the internationally-renowned Manjushaka Theater and Arts Company last December 8, 2005 held at Science City Gymnasium. The crowd was truly astounded as they performed modern kabuki and repertoire of Japanese music dance tradition.
Launched in 1995, the Manjushaka started as a commercial theatre group to perform at theater and hotels, however after its leader, Ms. Kiyoe Fujinaka popularly known as "Mama Rosa" met mother Theresa in India the group changed its way to perform for charities.
The Manjushaka's visit to Munoz was organized by City Government headed by Mayor Nestor Alvarez and was made possible through the coordination made by the NCCA's cultural diplomacy and outreach program.
Mayor Alvarez said that shows like these are part of his cultural development drive.He also stated that he was undeniably happy to see his constituents enjoying the entire show.
