MNHS ANNEX Soon to Open Munoz National High School (MNHS) has the highest number of enrollees with an average of 3 percent increase every year giving a student to classroom ratio of 1:63 which is way above the 1:40 ratio imposed by the Department of Education (DepEd). Almost 25% of the students enrolled in MNHS main campus come from the northern part of the city comprise of Barangays Gabaldon; Linlingay; Bical;Villa Isla; Ranga-ayan; Mapangpang; Mangandingay; Fanza and Rizal. Thus, give way to the construction of MNHS annex.

With a total cost of 59,341,389.22, the city government of Munoz availed the financial assistance offered by the Municipal Development Fund office - Local Government Finance and Development (MDFO - LOGOFIND) project with a a scheme of 50% grant, 35% loan and 15% LGU equity.

Sprawled in a 10 - hectare lot owned by the LGU in Barangays Franza and Rizal, the 2 two - storey building housed the 40 academic classroom with faculty room, computer room and library. Home Economics building and Industrial Arts room was also established adjacent to the 2 buildings.

MNHS annex will formally open to the student - constituents soon. The Pilot scheme will finally alleviate the shortage of rooms and address the growing problem of overcrowding and the increasing enrollment of students every year in the locality. It will also create an environment which is very conducive for learning.

"Giving excellent and quality education to the youth will certainly break the infinite cycle of poverty; it (MNHS Annex) will benefit not only the present generation of students but succeeding generation as well". Optimistically stated by City Mayor Nestor Alvarez.

Being one of the pilot sites of the UN-MDG Localization in the Philippines, Science City of Munoz has been exerting further effort in mainstreaming the MDGs specifically goal no.2 (Achieve Universal Education). Construction and rehabilitation of various school facilities along with the purchase of textbooks and educational materials was established all over the city to to achieve MDGs and targets.
