CPDO launches TUBIG Project Board of Trustee


The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) spearheaded the launching of the Linglingay TUBIG Project Board of Trustee Orientation last March 17.

Linglingay Tubig Project is the 11th community-managed water system of the City as part of achieving the Goal 1 (Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger) and Goal 7 (Environmental Sustainability) of the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals as committed by our Hon. Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez to be achieved come 2015.

Mr. Eric Tubalinal, CPDO chief, emphasized in the meeting that the formation of Board of Trustees at the grassroot level is a key to the empowerment process as stated in the development approaches of the City. Community as he said is a key ingredient of developmental success.

Mr. Tubalinal added that UN-Habitat Philippine Desk acknowledged our delivery of potable water system in different barangays as one of the best practices and a challenge to the candidate trustee to be guided by the spirit of service, transparency and accountability.

Mr. Joel Fernandez reiterated that our city is now aspiring to be the next South East Asia best practice in delivery of potable water.

On the other hand, Mr. Dominador Antolin, local leader of Linglingay, selected the most trusted and reliable people to be part if the initial Board of Trustees and recruitment of concessionaires in the Barangay.
